Located in Munroe's Mills, Ontario, Munroes Mills Flower Company is a boutique flower farm and event venue set within a restored historic hamlet. Surrounded by peaceful countryside, our space blends natural beauty with the charm of heritage buildings dating back to the early 1800s.
We grow locally cultivated, seasonal flowers that bring a fresh, organic feel to weddings, events, and custom arrangements. Our restored barn and flexible indoor and outdoor spaces provide a warm, inviting setting for celebrations of all kinds.
Rooted in simplicity and connection to the land, Munroe's Mills offers a timeless backdrop for meaningful gatherings.

How Did the Historical Property Become a Venue?
We purchased the Munroe’s Mills Farm in 2001 .The dilapidated agricultural outbuildings were converted into a rustic event venue. These renovations included structural levelling and the repurposing of old materials to ensure the buildings could safely host modern events like weddings, celebrations of life, birthday parties, showers, fundraising events and an annual Barn Dance..
We saw an opportunity to breathe new life into this historic landscape—a place that once thrived as a bustling hub of commerce and community. With our roots deeply planted in Munroe's Mills our mission was to restore the vibrancy of the original property, reclaiming the spirit of joy once shared here by neighbours, family, and friends.

Why Flowers?
Rooted in a lifelong mentorship with my mother, a master gardener, my approach to floral design is one of respect and precision. She taught me the art of balancing colour palettes and bloom schedules with the environmental needs of each plant. Our shared history of journaling and collaborative experimentation has shaped my commitment to sustainable, thoughtful gardening and a passion for creating beauty that lasts.

How Did the Historical Property Become a Venue?
The Milling Settlement: Settled in the 1860s, the area was an ambitious industrial site that supported a local population of about 50 people.
Original Facilities: The property once housed a complex including a saw and planing mill, flour and grist mills, an oatmeal mill, and a shingle mill.
Village Core: To support the workers and residents, a General Store and Post Office were established in 1874, alongside a local schoolhouse.

The Decline: The community's growth halted in the early 20th century after a devastating fire destroyed two of the primary mills. The remaining structures were consolidated into a single multi-use mill before eventually falling into disrepair.
A Vision for Restoration
In 2001, we purchased the historic 200-acre Munroe’s Mills farm, which had once been a thriving 19th-century industrial hub. Our mission wasn't just to rebuild a home, but to act as stewards for a piece of Ontario’s disappearing heritage.

The Move Home: After extensive renovations to the original house and outbuildings, we officially made the farm our permanent residence in 2015.
Saving "Rosetta’s", Leslie-Anne's mother's home: One of our most personal projects involved a log house that had been in my family (the O'Sheas) since they emigrated from Ireland in the early 1800s. When my mother passed away in 2019 and the old house was slated for demolition, we chose to gut and move the structure to our property—a massive undertaking that we now recognise as our most important refurbishing.
